Electro Metal Pressings (EMP) is Sri Lanka’s premier provider of electro-mechanical engineering solutions. Established in 1992 and revitalized in 2003 under the visionary leadership of Eng. Chandranandana Diyunuge and Eng. Suresh Thenuwara, EMP has evolved from a manual light fitting manufacturer into a technological powerhouse. We are the first in the industry to adopt CNC machinery, enabling us to manufacture precision-engineered Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) panel boards, steel enclosures, and cable management systems.

Operating from our state-of-the-art complex at the Templeburg Industrial Estate, Panagoda, we are an ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 certified organization. Our products, including 6000A busbar systems and Aluzinc-protected enclosures, adhere to strict IEC 61439-2 standards. As a “Total Solutions Provider,” EMP Holdings creates value through subsidiaries in turnkey projects, trading, and water management, serving clients across Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bangladesh, and beyond. We are the proud recipients of the NCE Gold Award for Exports, a testament to our global quality standards.

Our History

Three decades ago Electro Metal Pressings (EMP) commenced its operations as a manufacturing concern turning out electrical light fittings manually for the local market.

In 2003, two young dynamic, highly motivated and ambitious engineers teamed up and acquired the business and invested in the state of the art technology in manufacturing specialized Electrical components and took the Organization to new dimensions.

Under the guidance of these two young entrepreneurs the business grew rapidly, and they identified the need to recruit and invest on educated and competent personnel to run the critical and important segments of operations. EMP’s senior staff operations are managed by people with University Degrees/Professional qualifications or with years of experience in manufacturing and management fields.

Eng. Chandranandana Diyunuge (Chairman)

B.Sc. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering (Moratuwa, 1998). A specialist in LV/MV panel design with nearly two decades of experience. Awarded the “Most Promising Entrepreneurship Award” in 2012.

Eng. Suresh Thenuwara (Managing Director)

B.Sc. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering (Moratuwa, 1999). Over 15 years of industry experience, focusing on operational excellence and export expansion. Recognized by international biographical centers for his contributions to the field.

EMP Group’s operational Head Office, fully equipped modern factory, and its manufacturing subsidiaries are located at Templeburg Industrial Estate, Panagoda Sri Lanka.
